Christy Jones

2025 Committee Member

Christy Jones was born and raised in Des Moines, growing up in her family owned auto body shop, R Jones Collision Repair. Like many of you, Christy’s life journey has been full of twists and turns.

Having the desire to contribute to others, Christy decided to become a teacher. After graduating from UNI, she landed her first real job as a 6th grade resource teacher at Brody Middle School, in Des Moines. After realizing that institutional teaching was not her jam, she lifted stakes and moved to Charlotte, NC where she spent a year and a half working for a NASCAR engine builder, as their office manager.

Christy’s journey brought her back home to Iowa in 2001 when she was asked to help run the family business. Over time she grew to be the sole estimator and the frontline face of the business. And in 2015 she became the first and only women owned body shop owner in the Des Moines area. Christy’s journey wasn’t done yet. After buying another body shop in 2020, she then sold both shops in 2021 to Caliber Collision, effectively retiring at the young age of 44.
In 2022, Christy emerged from full retirement to become a certified business coach with Accelerate ActionCOACH, working with her former business coach. Today Christy has gone out on her own to form her own company, Clarity Business Coaching. Christy continues to work with large and small business owners providing them the focus and accountability needed to navigate the murky waters of business ownership.

Christy is very active in her community. She currently volunteers for UCAN, Urbandale Community Action Network and SCORE, an SBA backed free mentoring program for business owners. She is active in the Urbandale Chamber, most recently serving as the past board chair. She loves to read and enjoys learning more about wine and whiskey. Even with her new job and her many volunteer activities she partakes in, it is her goal to travel at least one time per month.

Gina Wright

2025 Urbandale Chamber Staff, Vice President

Gina Wright’s story reflects a deep connection to her roots and community, shaped by her upbringing on a farm in NW Iowa. Her strong work ethic and values were instilled by her parents and reinforced through her upbringing with her five siblings. Growing up with strong Christian values gave her a foundation that emphasized hard work and the belief in achieving goals through determination. Professionally, Gina found her specialty in hospitality, where she developed a passion for management, leadership, and connecting with people. This experience led her to roles with well-known franchise brands, allowing her to further hone her skills in community engagement and business development. Transitioning from hospitality to the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce as Vice President marked a new chapter for Gina. Here, she continues to foster relationships within the business community of Urbandale, the town she and her family call home. Her dedication to the growth and development of Urbandale reflects her commitment to enhancing the community where she resides. Outside of work, Gina prioritizes family time with her husband Bobby and daughter Shae. They cherish moments together on their deck, enjoying grilling and entertaining all while keeping up with Shae’s softball and show choir schedules. Gina’s journey is a testament to the values instilled in her from her rural Iowa upbringing, her dedication to community service and development, and her unwavering commitment to family.
